Two days before the midterms, the leader of the free world had one more message for the nation, and it was his face glued to the King’s.
At 9:20pm ET on Sunday, his Truth Social account posted a single image and not one word: the left half of a young Elvis Presley’s face stitched to the right half of Donald Trump’s. It is, as far as we can tell, the same split-face picture he posted in February 2024 with the caption “For so many years people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike.” This time he didn’t even ask what we thought.
The timing is the bit. Per the Wichita Eagle, Trump took the stage in Salina, Kansas, around 8:20pm Central, which is 9:20pm Eastern, so the post landed around the time he walked out. About an hour later, Sen. Roger Marshall took the mic with an Elvis line of his own (he didn’t say which Elvis he meant): “We were watching Elvis earlier. He’s got a whole band behind him... You’re a one-man show.”
Elvis left the building. Trump keeps posting the building.
