Five weeks after a deal reaffirming Danish sovereignty over Greenland, Donald Trump posted Greenland as a US aircraft carrier.

The Saturday Truth Social post is just the picture, with no words from him: the island remade as a flight deck, fighter jets parked on it, an American flag on top, and “WELCOME TO GREENLAND” across it. Mediaite and IBTimes UK describe it as AI-generated.

The agreement Washington, Copenhagen and Nuuk signed on 22 Sep expands military cooperation, and IBTimes UK reports it reaffirms Danish sovereignty and Greenlanders’ right to self-determination. Nothing in it makes the island a carrier, or his.

So the commander in chief spent his Saturday morning posting a NATO ally’s territory as American military hardware. The ink on the agreement is dry. The fantasy, apparently, isn’t.
