Donald Trump has found the most dangerous place in Washington, and it’s a driving range.
At 10:43pm ET on Wednesday, Trump posted that East Potomac Golf Course is “highly dangerous, dilapidated, and absolutely disgusting,” with photos. His post lists “excrement in the stairwell,” netting with “gaping holes,” and, his claim, “a White House staffer who was, sadly, hit violently in the chest” by a golf ball. The verdict: it “should be closed immediately for safety reasons!”
Then he named the person he holds responsible, using her full name: “We will hold the judge, Ana C. Reyes, fully responsible for anybody who is hurt, or killed, on this very dangerous, dilapidated, and unsightly Golf Course. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
The judge’s order, as AP and WUSA9 describe it, stops the government cutting more trees and makes it give 10 business days’ written notice before closing the course. Trump’s answer, on Monday night, was that the course closes “as scheduled” on November 15. Reyes has since ordered Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward, UPI and WUSA9 report, to come to court on Friday or Monday and explain whether there’s a plan to close it. When the course reopens, Trump’s post promises, it will be “AFFORDABLE.” The capitals are his.
