Trump tells Michigan voters that if Democrats win, ‘you will only have yourselves to blame’

The president has worked out who’s responsible if the midterms go badly, and good news: it isn’t the president. In Port Huron, Michigan on Sunday, he listed what Democrats would bring back, “all this junk, open borders,” men in women’s sports, “transgender for everybody,” and said it would all “be put right back in as soon as they win.” Then the verdict, pre-filed: “you will only have yourselves to blame.”

About a minute earlier, he’d covered the other column. Some of his policies, he said, kick in later, and “I’d hate to have this stuff kick in with somebody else where they take credit.” Hence: “That’s why we have to win because I don’t want them to get credit for it.” So the wins are his, even when they show up after he’s gone. The loss is yours, before anyone’s voted.

Voters weren’t even the first suspects of the day. At 12:49pm ET, before the rally, he posted that Republican candidates are being “blurred out” by the media, “and Fox is doing little to help. That’s the only reason this Race is close, if it is indeed close.”

He closed the thought with “We did a great job to win.” We, on the way up. You, on the way down.
