Donald Trump has endorsed Michele Tafoya for the Senate in Minnesota, and he did it with a math problem. “I won Minnesota three times,” he posted on Truth Social on Monday afternoon, “but they didn’t give me the Victories.”

KSTP checked when he made the same claim in June. He lost Minnesota in 2016 by about 1.5 points, in 2020 by about 7 and in 2024 by about 4. By our math, that’s zero for three.

He also wrote that Minnesota “hasn’t been ‘won’ since 1972, when Richard Nixon claimed the trophy.” That part holds up: KSTP says no Republican has carried the state for president since Nixon in 1972. Nixon’s 1972 campaign is better remembered for Watergate.

The endorsement comes with a warning: “Don’t allow them to play with the Votes after the race is over. The Federal Government will be watching closely.” The only way she can lose, he says, “is if they cheat by playing games with the Ballots as they come in.” He offered no evidence that anyone has cheated.
