Trump says he was ‘too busy’ to play golf, after a morning at his golf club

Trump has found a new way to be too busy for golf: spend the morning at the golf club.

Asked at Saturday’s early-voting gaggle who he’d played golf with, he started with “Just a couple of professionals.” Then he corrected himself: “I didn’t play. I just hit balls for an hour... I wasn’t in the mood to play.” Why not? “Because I’m too busy.”

The press pool reported that his motorcade reached Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach at 8:59am. Factba.se’s schedule has him leaving at 1:08pm. By our math that’s four hours and nine minutes at the club, three of which aren’t the hour of balls. The pool never saw him there, so we don’t know what filled the rest. We do know it wasn’t the busy part.

The busy part came afterwards: voting, a gaggle, then a flight to a rally in Georgia. The professionals, whoever they were, didn’t get a round.
