Trump calls Murkowski the ‘worst senator’ and says everyone thought she came ‘second or third’. She came first

At 11:13pm ET on Saturday, Trump posted that “The Republicans’ Worst Senator, by far, Lisa Murkowski... only got elected because of Corrupt Ranked Choice Voting.” Her crime is that she “is against the DOJ filing a Lawsuit,” and he says she “probably wants” the Democrats to “steal the Election.” That’s his claim. His verdict: “Lisa Murkowski is a DISGRACE to Alaska and our Country. You just don’t get any worse!”

Here’s the full Murkowski outrage, as she put it on Friday, per the Anchorage Daily News: “Alaskans don’t need any help voting for their preferred candidates, and the State of Alaska has already handled this by clearly distinguishing the candidates on this year’s ballot. The Department of Justice should never have filed this lawsuit.” That’s the lawsuit he says he ordered.

Twenty-one minutes later he was back with the history lesson: “she came up with the Ranked Choice Voting SCAM, and pulled a nice hot iron out of the fire. Everyone thought she came in second or third, but then she ‘won.’ Miracles happen!” Alaska’s official 2022 count has Murkowski first in the very first round, on 43.39% to Kelly Tshibaka’s 42.62%, before a single ranking was counted. After the rankings she finished on 53.7% to 46.3%. She had also outpolled Tshibaka in the August primary, per the Anchorage Daily News. The system was adopted by voters through a 2020 ballot initiative, which the Anchorage Daily News says was “crafted and backed by Murkowski’s allies.”

So the miracle is that the person who got the most votes won. This year’s Ballot Measure 2 would repeal ranked choice voting, and he wants a “YES.” Coming first, apparently, is now a scam.
