EASY FOR HIM TO SAY

Trump says your gas bill is a ‘Small Price to Pay.’ Small for whom?

Great news, rural America: the president has looked at your fuel bill and decided it’s cheap.

Tuesday in the Oval Office, a reporter cited Fox News’ own numbers: less than a quarter of rural voters are happy with the economy. Was Trump concerned? “No.” Once the war is over, “it’s gonna end very soon,” oil will “drop like a rock.” Meanwhile, “It’s a small price to pay” to keep Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

Small for him. Out in Kansas, farmers are bringing in the harvest with diesel more than $2.50 a gallon higher than a year ago. The man calling that small hasn’t paid for his own fuel since January 2025. Air Force One runs on yours.

And “very soon” is doing a lot of work. The night before, he told a Wichita TV station “We could win tomorrow, frankly. We could leave today.” If you can leave today and win tomorrow, the voters paying at the pump would like to know why they’re paying for next week.
