The RNC posted this one themselves. Proudly. With capital letters. That’s the best part.

Last Wednesday in Bullhead City, Arizona, Donald Trump claimed a housing miracle: “Since I took office, rent in Arizona has plummeted by 14%, and it’s going to go down by another 20% or 25%.” The official Republican account clipped it and posted it with “PLUMMETED” in all caps, under “Since DAY ONE, President Trump has been delivering.”

Arizona’s KTAR checked. Apartment List data shows Arizona rents down about 3% over the past year. And that decline started before Trump returned to office in January 2025. So, by our math, the number is off by a factor of four or five, and the credit belongs to a trend that started before he got there. Other than that, nailed it.

And “another 20 or 25%”? That’s a forecast from a man whose last number was off by about 11 points. If your landlord cuts your rent by a quarter before Christmas, please write in. We’ll print a correction.
